Dog Days
Spijkersdreef 13, 8310 Sint-Kruis (Brugge)
Dog Days is a summer design exhibition that embraces the slow, sun-drenched rhythm of the season. Borrowing its title from the ancient phrase “dog days,” which refers to the sultry stretch of late summer when Sirius—the Dog Star—rises with the sun, the show is a celebration of languid creativity, subtle rebellion, and the art of taking it easy.
These are the days when time softens and the edges of ambition blur into lazy afternoons. Dog Days invites designers to lean into the mood—works that don’t shout, they stretch. Think pieces that feel like sun-warmed concrete, iced drinks sweating on a studio table, or the cool escape of an air-conditioned gallery.
Rather than fighting the haze of August, we revel in it. The designs are unhurried, irreverent, and quietly witty. It’s a moment to resist urgency, and instead create objects, furniture, or installations that evoke the dreamy pause between productivity and play.
